You create a pike out of the blood of a deceased being. Choose the body of one non-construct, non-undead creature that has died within the last 10 minutes. You must be able to see the body, it must be within 60-feet of you, and the creature to which the body belongs must have a size of small or larger. You cannot choose the same body as the target of this spell more than once.
You siphon the blood from the chosen creature to manifest a magical pike in your hands. It counts as a martial melee weapon with which you are proficient. It deals 1d10 piercing damage on a hit and it has the reach and two-handed properties. In addition, if a creature is hit by this weapon, they must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes an additional 3d8 necrotic damage and is poisoned until the beginning of your next turn, or half as much damage on a successful one and isn't poisoned.
If you ever let go of the weapon, it dissipates at the end of the turn.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a 4th- or 5th-level spell slot, the necrotic damage increases to 4d8. When you cast it using a 6th- or 7th-level spell slot, the necrotic damage increases to 5d8. When you cast it using a 8th- or 9th-level spell slot, the necrotic damage increases to 6d8.

Posted Jul 8, 2021This is very cool!
Does the pike use strength like a normal weapon or does it use your spellcasting modifier?

Posted Jul 8, 2021It doesn’t specify, so it must be your strength, but it should be your spellcasting to be more similar to other such weapon-creating spells.
