Acid
Acid drips from your jaws as you attempt to bite down upon a creature. Make a melee spell attack against the target. You have advantage on the attack roll if the target is unarmored. On a hit, the target takes 1d8 acid damage, and it can't take reactions until the start of its next turn.
The spell's damage increases by 1d8 when you reach 5th level (2d8), 11th level (3d8), and 17th level (4d8).
This is a fairly straightforward elemental swap of Shocking Grasp with some parts worth noting:
The damage and bonus effect are otherwise the same, only the elemental type is changed; this makes it a good option for an acid-themed caster (such as a Draconic Ancestry Sorcerer) to get away from an enemy in melee range, as well as being an additional acid damage cantrip option.
Not generally one for grabbing others' spells for use, but I came across this and I like it a lot.
