The next time you hit a creature with a weapon attack before this spell ends, the weapon is outlined in an infernal red glow. The attack deals an extra 2d6 necrotic damage to the target. Whenever you land a hit on a creature, you will gain +1 Life Essence.
At Higher Levels. Casting this spell at 3rd level or higher adds 1d6 per spell level higher than 2nd.
At 5 Life Essence: Your weapon has the ability to destroy a common magical item. If the magical item is attuned, you must unattune that item before destroying it.
At 10 Life Essence: Your weapon has the ability to destroy an uncommon magical item. If the magical item is attuned, you must unattune that item before destroying it. Your weapons also gain +1 to attack and damage.
At 15 Life Essence: Your weapon has the ability to destroy a rare magical item. If the magical item is attuned, you must unattune that item before destroying it.
At 20 Life Essence: Your weapon has the ability to destroy a very rare magical item. If the magical item is attuned, you must unattune that item before destroying it. Your weapons also gain +2 to attack and damage. (Does not stack with the 10 LE rule)
At 30 Life Essence: Your weapon has the ability to destroy a Legendary magical item. If the magical item is attuned, you must unattune that item before destroying it. Some exceptions may apply, such as, if the item is sentient. In the case of a sentient item, it must make a Charisma saving throw. On a failure the magical item is destroyed. On a success, the spell rebounds and targets the caster. Your weapons also gain +3 to attack and damage. (Does not stack with the 10 LE and 20 LE rule)
Anytime a magical item is destroyed with this spell, regardless of rarity, all collected Life Essence is expunged.
