You create a glowing dart of magical force that shoots towards a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a miss, the target must make a Dexterity saving throw. If the attack roll hits the target, or if the target fails the saving throw, the target takes 1d6 force damage.
The spell creates more than one dart when you reach higher levels: two darts at 5th level, three darts at 11th level, and four darts at 17th level. All the darts mush be directed at the same target. Make a separate attack roll for each dart, and the target musk make a separate saving throw for each dart missed.

Posted Sep 7, 2020This is a really cool idea! I love the visual of seeing a trail of magic swing around for a second attack. Off the top of my head, I don't know if a d6 or a d4 is the right damage die for this effect - I guess Shocking Grasp's sometimes-advantage is the closest RAW cantrip to this, and trading a die size for range seems fine.
Big fan of this overall.

Posted Sep 8, 2020I have done the math already, this cantrip on average does less damage then firebolt. so a d6 is fine
