Arcs of lightning spring forth from the tips of your fingers in a direction you choose. Each creature in a 15-foot cone must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 2d10 lightning damage and is forced to drop any metallic objects it is holding onto the ground in its space. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and does not drop any objects.
In addition, any objects that are dropped due to the spells effect remained charged with electricity until the spell ends. A creature that attempts to pick up a charged object must make another Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 1d10 lightning damage and drops the object again. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and the object is no longer charged.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the initial lightning damage increases by 1d10 for each slot level above 2nd.
