The spell captures some of the incoming energy, lessening its effect on you and storing it for your next attack. When you are subject to a damage type learned through your Elemental Discipline, you can use your reaction to spend 1 ki point and gain resistance to the triggering damage until the start of your next turn. You can add an additional martial arts die worth of the triggering damage to the next melee or ki bolt attack made before the end of your next turn.
