A thin green ray springs from your pointing finger to a target that you can see within range. The target can be a creature, an object, or a creation of magical force, such as the wall created by wall of force.
A creature targeted by this spell must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the target takes 10d6 + 40 force damage. The target is disintegrated if this damage leaves it with 0 hit points.
In addition if the target fails their atomic structure is weakened. The creature must make a constitution saving throw at the beginning of their turn, on a successful save the effect ends. On a failure they take an additional 6d6 force damage. If a creature's hit points were to be reduced to 0 this way, that creature is disintegrated.
A disintegrated creature and everything it is wearing and carrying, except magic items, are reduced to a pile of fine gray dust. The creature can be restored to life only by means of a true resurrection or a wish spell.
This spell automatically disintegrates a Large or smaller nonmagical object or a creation of magical force. If the target is a Huge or larger object or creation of force, this spell disintegrates a 10-foot- cube portion of it. A magic item is unaffected by this spell.

Posted Oct 16, 2021you could just say the target dies unless they have a certain amount ofhealth (like 60 or higher health you roll 10d6+40 force) so it does not waste as much time on casting

Posted Oct 19, 2021I like the suggestion! For my next enhanced spell I'll definitely consider that. I run narratively driven games and, at the time, thought that a damage over time buff to this spell would fit more thematically and be a bit more visually striking for story telling.
