You shape your Arcane Ward and imbue it with limited conciousness to create a humanoid Aegis that shrouds you and protects an area of 15 feet around you. It remains for either the duration of the spell or until your Arcane Ward is reduced to 0 hit points. When another creature enters the area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, you can choose to have your Aegis attack it. The attacked creature must malce a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 3d8 force damage. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage. During your turn for as long as the spell is active you can command it with an action to attack a specific target in the area and make a ranged spell attack against it. On a hit the target takes 3d8 plus your spellcasting modifier force damage and is pushed back 5 feet. Additionally any time you command your Aegis to attack a target on your turn, your Arcane Ward regenerates 3 hit points.
At Higher Levels. When you cast the spell using a spell slot for 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 and your Arcane Ward regenerates 1 additional hit point for each slot level above 3rd.
