Adhesion

You change up to a hundred square feet of a surface to be adhesive for an hour. Interaction with the surface proves that it is sticky, but it appears normal otherwise. Objects not being worn as clothing by a creature stick to the surface the moment they make contact to it, and a creature may use an action to make strength check against your spell save DC to successfully separate them from each other.

You can choose either to effect an object that is large or smaller, or a flat surface (such as a wall or the floor):

Item: A creature that makes contact with the item's sticky surface must make a Strength saving throw, on a failure they stick to it and are treated as carrying the item. If the item successfully strikes the creature from an attack on its sticky side, the creature makes the saving throw at a disadvantage. If the item cannot be moved, the creature's speed becomes zero until they can free themselves; a creature may use an action to make a Strength check against your spell save DC to successfully pry the item off of themselves or off of someone else.

Flat Surface: A creature moving on the sticky surface must spend 2 feet of movement for every 1 foot it moves. Creatures that start their turn on the surface must make a strength save. On a failure, they are restrained until they escape or are no longer touching the surface. A creature may use an action to make a Strength check against your spell save DC to successfully pull themselves or someone else free.

At Higher Levels: If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level, the duration is 8 hours. If you use a spell slot of 6th level, the duration is 24 hours. If you cast this spell using a 7th level spell slot, the duration is 7 days. If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8th level or higher, the spell lasts until it is dispelled.
