You magically summon the destructive power of your draconic blood, gaining the ability to exhale a dragon's breath which you can manipulate using your font of magic. Until the spell ends, you can use an action to exhale energy of the appropriate type in the current shape of the breath. There are four possible breath shapes detailed below. Upon casting, you choose one of these shapes for the breath to take at no cost. As a bonus action, you can expend 2 sorcery points to change the shape of the breath to one of the other options. The damage type of your breath is the type associated with your draconic bloodline. This spell cannot be affected by any metamagic options or be cast at higher levels.
Breath shapes:
- Cone - You exhale energy of the appropriate type in a wide 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 6d4 damage of the appropriate type on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
- Beam - You exhale energy of the appropriate type in a concentrated 5-foot wide, 45-foot long line. Each creature in that area must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 7d4 damage of the appropriate type.
- Ray - You exhale a targeted ray of energy of the appropriate type against one target within 90 feet. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 11d4 damage of the appropriate type.
- Bomb - You hurl an explosive pellet of energy towards one target within 60 feet. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 6d4 damage of the appropriate type. Hit or miss, the pellet then explodes. The target and each creature within 10 feet of it must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 3d4 damage of the appropriate type.
