You drain the moisture from a target's limb, making it impossible to use. Select a limb on a humanoid target: The left or right arm, or the left or right leg. The target makes a Constitution saving throw; if it succeeds, nothing happens and this spell ends. Constructs and the undead automatically succeed on this saving throw. Otherwise, the targeted limb withers and dies. If you target an arm, it drops whatever it is holding and it stops working; if you target a leg, reduce the target's speed to 10 feet. You may also target special appendages if the target has them. The GM decides what the effects are of them stopping to work.

In addition the target takes 2 necrotic damage per hit die it has. Its hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the damage taken. This reduction lasts until the creature finishes a Long Rest. The target dies if this Effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.

The target can make a new Constitution saving throw at the end of its turn to end this effect. This effect can also be ended by an effect that cures diseases.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the duration becomes "Until Dispelled" and target does not to make new saving throws. You no longer need to maintain concentration. To reverse this effect the target must now have Greater Restoration or Regenerate cast on it.
