Bind Soul

This spell can only be learned and cast by a creature attuned to the Book of Vile Darkness. 

You chant a dark incantation targeting one creature you can see. That creature must make a DC 25 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the process of extracting that creature's soul and binding it to an object begins. If the creature saves the throw it cannot be targeted by the Bind Soul spell for 1d4 days.

• Immediately, the creature has disadvantage on all attack rolls, saving throws and ability checks.
• Once 15 minutes have passed, the creature's speed and hit point maximum are halved. 
• Once 30 minutes have passed, the creature is blinded and deafened.
• Once 45 minutes have passed the creature becomes paralyzed. 
• Once the spell is complete after one hour, the soul leaves the creature's body and becomes bound to the object. The effects of the soul extraction process become permanent.

If the Soul Binding spell becomes interrupted, such as if the caster loses concentration on the spell, the caster's soul becomes immediately bound to the object instead.
