When a command word is spoken, your weapon's damage type changes into whatever damage type you choose. Additionally, it gains an extra 1d8 of damage [roll]1d8[/roll] (The type of which, you just choose.) The weapon has a minor sensory change that is purely aesthetic, which is either described by you or your dm. These affects last for one minute, or until dispelled.
At higher levels: This spell does an extra 1d8 of damage for every level it is cast above forth.
