Playing a haunting tune, you summon frightful spirits that take the form of ghosts and appear in unoccupied spaces that you can see within range. You can summon any number or type of ghost, provided the total combined challenge rating of the summoned creatures is 2 or less.
For the purposes of this spell, a creature with a challenge rating of 0 is treated as having a challenge rating of 1/8, and a ghost is any creature with the Incorporeal Movement trait or any undead creature described as a spirit.
Each ghost is considered undead, and disappears when it drops to 0 hit points or when the spell ends.
The summoned creatures are friendly to you and your companions. Roll initiative for the summoned creatures as a group, which has its own turns. They obey any verbal commands that you issue to them (no action required by you). If you don't issue any commands to them, they defend themselves from hostile creatures, but otherwise take no actions.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the total combined challenge rating of creatures you can summon increases by 1 for each slot level above 3rd.
