For the duration, you sense the presence of magic within 60 feet as a faint aura around any visible creature or object in the area that bears magic, and you learn its school of magic, if any.
In if addition you sense a magic from a creature you may use an action to learn the highest form of spell that creature is capable of casting, if any. In this way the creature may emanate a a more vibrant aura that changes size, output, or intensity with the degree of magic involved.
The spell can penetrate most barriers, but it is blocked by 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 feet of wood or dirt.
If you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the Duration is Concentration, up to 10 minutes. If you use a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the Duration is 8 hours. If you use a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the Duration is 24 hours. If you use a 9th level spell slot, the spell lasts until it is dispelled. Using a spell slot of 5th level or higher grants a Duration that doesn't require Concentration.
