9 spectral violins appear near the caster, blaring Beethoven in a direction of the caster's choosing. Each creature in a 60-foot-cone must make a Charisma saving throw. A target takes 8d6 psychic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

The burst of music has a chance to open a rift to the Astral Plane. Roll a d100. On a roll of 5 or lower, a rift opens.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 3rd.
