Tendrils of flame lash out from your fingertips. Choose a creature within range, that creature must make a strength saving throw against your spell DC. On a failed save, the creature takes 2d6 fire damage and is restrained by the flames that coil around their limbs. A creature takes half damage and is not restrained on a successful save.
While restrained by this spell, the target takes 1d6 fire damage at the start of its turn. A creature restrained by the flames, or one that can touch the creature can use its action to make a strength check against your spell DC. Attempting to break free of the binds deals 1d6 fire damage to the creature currently affected by the spell. If a creature of size large or smaller has been restrained by the spell, you may use a bonus action to pull the creature 10 feet closer to you. Creatures larger than the caster may contest this with a strength check against the casters spell DC.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot above 2nd.
