As you cast this spell you ring a hand bell that can be heard clearly in a 100-foot radius centered on you, shouting--typically, in Common--to "Bring out the dead!" The necromantic energies of the spell grant a semblance of life to any humanoid corpses within range, commanding them to rise and follow you for the spell's duration.
Such a corpse will follow you at the speed it possessed in life to the best of its abilities. A corpse unable to follow you due to barriers, obstacles, or other impediments attempts to become upright, facing towards you until out of range of the spell, at which point it becomes an inanimate corpse once more. A restrained corpse, even lightly restrained, will not fight the restraints but attempt to become upright (if possible) while in the area of the spell. The corpse is not an undead creature, cannot be turned or destroyed as such, and can take no actions other than to move on your turn closer to you. The corpse attempts to stay within the nearest unoccupied space next to you but does not follow any orders given to it by you or anyone else. When you stop ringing the bell and shouting, the spell ends and any affected corpse collapses to the ground where it stands.
This spell is commonly used to remove dead bodies in mass from a settlement ravaged by plague or a battlefield after combat.

Posted Mar 12, 2024I give a begrudging like, cause while neat it's not something I would ever want to use on a character. More a NPC to help flesh out the lore of how magic affects the world.
