Yal, a tiefling wizard, was a powerful transmuter, creating some of the strongest transmutation spell's and rituals on the continet, many years ago. Upon finding his spellbook,  the wizards studying it, found an interesting cantrip, 'Yal's Basic Damaging Spell". It had the mere purpose, of findig out, if the target has any active magical defenses shielding him from arcane magic. It was of great relevance for Yal to have this information, for his transmutation magic was so trying to use, that he could not allow himself to waste them on some unseen arcane defenses.

The spell deals 1 point of force damage, without saving throw, to any choosen opponent within 100ft. If the spell isn't deflected by any magical defenses, the next spell against the opponent is treated as if was casted 1 slot higher as memorized.
