Vermin Sight

You mutter an ancient phrase as your eyes darken. You gain the ability to perceive rats to up to 30 feet away for the duration of the spell. Additionally, you perceive the locations humanoid target that are within a 30 foot radius around you.

You can make a perception check to ascertain the contents of the target's pockets, the amount of gold they have, or any other information that can be gleamed from the target as if a thorough search had been conducted. The result of this search is determined by the DM and the roll. The target is immune to this effect they are carrying any items considered holy to the target such as a holy symbol. This immunity is subject to the DM's ruling on what would constitute a valid object on the target.

At higher levels: Casting Vermin Sight with a higher level spell slot has the following effects with every other level adding new functionality to the spell. The duration also increases to one hour at 3rd level and by one additional hour for every level after 3rd.

3rd: You may attempt to look through the eyes of any rats you see in range during the duration of the spell as if you were looking through a familiar. The rat still resists any commands you give and will continue it's normal activities. You have a field of view of 360 degrees and can move your vision to any other rats that are within 30 feet of the rat you are currently looking through.

5th: You may command the rat as you would a familiar, giving it orders such as following a target or going to a specific location. The rat will attempt to carry out your request to the best of it's ability. Touch spells may be cast through any possessed rat the same way you would with a familiar.
