You touch an undead creature that has an Intelligence score of 3 or less. The target you choose gains an Intelligence of 10. If the target has a mouth, it gains the ability to speak one language you know, as well as the languages it knew in life.
Undead creatures awakened in this way do not regain any spells, magical abilities, skills, feats, or class levels they had in life. The DM chooses how much of an undead creature's life it is able to recall, which can be anything from a few vague details to having most of its memories intact.
The awakened undead creature is charmed by you for 30 days or until you or your companions do anything harmful to it, even if it is normally immune to being charmed. When the charmed condition ends, the awakened creature chooses whether to remain friendly to you, based on how you treated it while it was charmed.
