You commune with the land around you for the duration. Features of the environment within 30 feet of you are imbued with limited sentience and animation, giving them the ability to communicate with you and follow your simple commands. You can question the land about events it has witnessed or difficulties afflicting it. This can be useful in gathering information about creatures that have passed, weather, and other circumstances, bear in mind that the memory and awareness of the land is vast and long, and the smaller the object of your questioning is, more than likely the more vague and nebulous the lands information will be.
Your interactions with the land can affect your passage and travel, making difficult terrain easier to pass when the land likes or respects you, or causing the landscape to become even more hazardous out of hostility towards you.
The land might be able to perform other tasks on your behalf, at the GM's discretion. While you can communicate with the land as if you shared a common language, you gain no magical ability to influence it.
Land here refers to nature and geography, not specifically dirt or land mass. It is possible to find yourself in an environment so unnatural that the spirit of the land is too faint to hear or gone entirely.
