Water rises up and surrounds you and up to one other creature, allowing you to contact your deities or divine proxies and ask one question each that can be answered with a yes or no. You must ask your question before the spell ends. You have a 50 percent chance of receiving an answer for each question.
Divine beings aren't necessarily omniscient, so you might receive "unclear" as an answer if a question pertains to information that lies beyond the deity's knowledge. In a case where a one-word answer could be misleading or contrary to the deity's interests, the GM might offer a short phrase as an answer instead.
If you cast the spell two or more times before finishing your next long rest, the chance of success decreases by 25 percent for each casting.
If a participant does not wish to contact a divine being, they instead receive advantage on their first wisdom-based skill check within the next 12 hours.
At higher levels the chance of receiving a response increases: 75 percent chance at 3rd level, and 100 percent chance at 4th level.
