By means of this spell you turn a mountain into a volcano, or activate a dormant or extinct volcano, if you choose to create a volcano, it forms as stage 1, after which it becomes dormant. When you start concentrating on the effects of the spell, roll 6D10, these are the number of meteors you can summon each hour the volcano is active, they fire out randomly in a specified direction, the rate of fire is up to you. In addition, if you create a volcano on certain minerals or metals, it may augment the damage or effects of the Volcano, these include:

Sulfur: Ash generated by the volcano deals an additional 2D10 poison damage.

Metal, higher grade than iron: Meteors deal an extra 4D10 bludgeoning damage.

Magical effect: The meteors and lava gain the effect of the magic in process, but only in terms of damage, this effect is only applied on spell effects that are permanently in the area.

Meteor: Meteors deal 10D10 Bludgeoning damage and 10D10 Fire damage, half fire damage if they go through water, or half on a successful Dexterity saving throw.

The following effects happen each hour the volcano is active:

1 Hour: The volcano becomes active, and signs of it's destructive force begin manifesting, the volcano will become increasingly agitated as it nears the end of the hour, beings that stand within 100 feet of the volcano's caldera take 2D8 fire damage each round. You cannot summon Meteors at this stage of the eruption.

2 Hours: The volcano erupts, dealing 25D10 Thunder damage to all beings within 300 feet of the volcano, or half on a successful Con save. In addition lava starts flowing from the volcano until the next stage at a rate of 10 feet per round, it deals 18D10 fire damage on touch, or half as much within 15 feet of the lava. You may start summoning meteors from the volcano at this stage of eruption

3 Hours: The volcano erupts again, dealing 25D10 Thunder damage to all beings within 300 feet of the volcano, or half on a successful Con save. Ash starts forming from the volcano, it travels at a rate of 20 feet per round, and stopping at 900 feet. The ash deals 3D6 fire damage to a creature that stops it's turn in ash, and settles on the ground, dealing no further damage. The ash stays in the air for the rest of the duration.

4 Hours: A portal opens in the Plane of Fire or Plane of Magma. Roll on the Following chart summoning an amount of elementals depending on the number you rolled:

  • %1-50: 2 Fire Elementals
  • %51-70: 4 Fire Elementals
  • %71-80: 5 Fire Elementals or 2 Lava Elementals if you chose Plane of Magma
  • %81-90: 6 Fire Elementals or 3 Lava Elementals if you chose Plane of Magma
  • %91-99: 10 Fire Elementals or 5 Lava Elementals if you chose Plane of Magma
  • 100: Roll twice on this chart, if you get a 90-100, a Phoenix not under your control pours fourth from the volcano, otherwise repeat 91-99

Any elementals summoned are friendly toward you and your allies, except the Phoenix, and they obey commands within limit that are issued by you.

When the spell ends, or if you lose concentration for more than 1 minute, the volcano becomes extinct, the energy dissipating back into the Plane of Fire.
