You conjure a fey spirit in the form of a huge caterpillar that carries a three-story cabin made of clay, wood, and thatch on it's back. The cabin is square in shape and each level of the cabin is 10 feet tall. Inside each level is an area of 225 square feet and access between levels consists of a simple ladder and hatch. Each level is comfortably furnished with rustic furniture and takes the following forms.
- A lounge with three couches, a fine woven rug, side tables and footstools on the first floor.
- A dining space with a table, chairs, magical fireplace, containers, and cooking utensils on the second floor.
- A bedroom with a bed fit for two, chairs, chest, and magical fireplace on the third floor.
The interior of the cabin is warm and dry, regardless of conditions outside. Any equipment or furnishings conjured with the cabin dissipate into smoke if removed from it. At the end of the casting time you can either command the caterpillar to remain in it's space, or you choose a cardinal direction and mentally command it to march. At any time you can use an action to command the caterpillar to change direction or halt it's march. You must be within 30 feet of the caterpillar to do so. The caterpillar will then travel in said direction for the duration of the spell using the easiest path possible at the pace of one mile per hour unless commanded otherwise. ( e.g. "Travel north 4 miles then halt." ) At the end of the spell’s duration, all creatures and objects within the cabin that were not created by the spell appear safely outside on the ground, and all traces of the caterpillar, the cabin, and its furnishings disappear. You can cast this spell again while it is active to maintain the caterpillar and it's cabin's existence for another duration.
Should the caterpillar or it's cabin be damaged from an outside source, any inhabitants inside the cabin will be safely ejected to an unoccupied space outside it within 5 feet. The caterpillar then magically retracts into the cabin, thus rejecting any creature from entering, until commanded otherwise. However, if the caterpillar and it's cabin is permanent it will then defend itself, and it's cabin, to the death if needed. Should the caterpillar die or be banished back to the feywild a new one may be summoned with another casting of this spell. Until then the cabin becomes, of course, immobile. On the other hand, should the the cabin become destroyed, the caterpillar returns to the feywild and you must wait an entire lunar cycle before being able to cast this spell again. In that case, you will have to go through the process of making the caterpillar and it's cabin permanent once again.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the caterpillar and it's cabin lasts for 24 hours. When you cast this spell using an 8th level slot the cabin's front door and all it's hatches are under the effect of the Alarm spell. When you cast this spell using a 9th level slot the caterpillar, it's cabin, and it's inhabitants, while inside it, can't be targeted by any Divination magic or perceived through magical Scrying sensors. Additionally, if you cast this spell at 9th level each night in the same location for an entire lunar cycle, the caterpillar and it's cabin become permanent. On the final casting at 9th level to make this spell permanent, the material components are consumed.
