You gather magical force to punish those who try to harm you. You instantly vanish from your current position and appear on an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the creature that triggers this spell. Make a melee spell attack against the creature. On a hit, the target takes 3d8 force damage as you release the gathered magic.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 2nd.
