You can call up shadowy figures of the past that relate to an object you hold and your immediate surroundings. As you cast this spell, you are able to witness events that have unfolded in the area that you cast it, up to a 50-foot cube, in the past week. If you attempt to interact with the shadowy figures called forth by the spell, you find that they are intangible and immune to all effects.
While concentrating, you can use an action to focus on a specific day and time, and all creatures of your choice within the 50-foot cube can see and hear the events unfolding, which play out exactly as they did in the past. You may speed the events up, slow them down, move them backwards, and pause them at will.
If the caster is recalling their own memories, the material components for this spell are not consumed when casting it.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of a higher level, the past time you can view increases to a month with a 6th-level slot, to one year with a 7th-level slot, to a century with an 8th-level slot, and to any past time with a 9th-level spell slot.
