Choose a creature that you can see within range. The target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be restrained for the duration by chains crafted from the primordial elements. Unbreakable platinum links are sheathed in crackling lightning, haloed by shimmering waves of white-hot heat, or rimed with the cold of deep winter. At the end of each of its turns, the target can make another Dexterity saving throw, ending the effect on a success.
While restrained by the primordial fetters, the creature cannot use any form of teleportation or extradimensional travel, including both spells and spell-like abilities. A non-exhaustive list includes the following arcane gate, astral projection, blink, dimension door, etherealness, far step, gate, arcane gate, misty step, plane shift, scatter, steel wind strike, teleport, thunder step, transport via plants, tree stride, and word of recall. The spell does not affect creatures that are already in ethereal or astral form when the spell is cast.
When the spell is cast, and as a bonus action on subsequent turns, the caster can choose to constrict the chains on one restrained target which takes 4d6 bludgeoning damage.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, you can target one additional creature for each spell slot level above 5th. The creatures must be within 30 feet of each other when you target them and you can only constrict the chains on one target per round.
