A Black magic circle with a 150ft radius opens on a point within range that the caster can see. the effect of the circle extends in a 500ft tall cylinder. Any creature within the area of effect must make a constitution saving throw, taking 25d6 necrotic damage, or half as much on a successful save.
should this kill any creature the caster has the option of turning them into a zombie, skeleton, ghoul, or wight. if this kills a mass of creatures then the caster must choose a ratio of those creatures, with ghouls and wights being on the lower end. the caster has a telepathic link with all of the undead created via this spell, and unless given an order. the undead seek out other living creatures to attack and kill. creatures killed by the undead legion do not become reanimated into more undead.
Black abyss is a forbidden spell, considered great black magic in most if not all cultures. As such any records and scrolls are usually destroyed upon finding them. however, liches, old, evil and eldritch gods, as well as possibly some archfiends like Mephistopheles may have knowledge of this spell and others like it, and may allow it's study for a price.
