You create a field of icicles within range that burst forth from the ground creating a slick field of ice and spikes in a 15-foot tall cylinder with a 20-foot radius. Any creature caught in the field when it's first created must make a dexterity saving throw or take 5d6 cold damage on a failed save and is restrained as ice solidifies around their body, or half as much on a successful one and it avoids being restrained. On it's turn, a creature can use it's action to strike the ice restraining it or another creature. The ice has an AC of 10 and 5 hit points.
While you maintain concentration, the field of ice becomes difficult terrain for the duration of the spell. When a creature enters the spell's area for the first time, it must make a dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, it falls prone.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell with a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the affected radius is increased by 5 feet and the cold damage is increased by 1d6 for each slot level above 3rd.
