Chasme's Sewing Needle

A shimmering green sewing needle streaks toward a target within range and pierces the target. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 4d10 piercing damage and 4d10 necrotic damage. The target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken. If this effect reduces a creature's hit point maximum to 0, the creature dies.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the damage (both piercing and necrotic) increases by 1d10 for each slot level above 5th.
