Acid coats one creature you can see within range. The target must make a Constitution saving throw. It takes 8d8 acid damage on a failed save and is stunned, or half as much damage on a successful one. At the end of each of its turns, the target repeats the saving throw. It takes 4d8 acid damage on a failed save, and the spell ends on a successful one.
Any nonmagical armor made of metal that the target is wearing takes a permanent and cumulative −1 penalty to their AC, to a maximum of --3.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8rd level or higher, the damage increases by 2d8 for each slot level above 7th.
