Choose any number of creatures you can see within range. You become surrounded by ghostly ornate masquerade style masks, one for each targeted creature. The masks disappear and reappear on those creatures' faces or upon their head if they have no face or upon some visible place if they have no head. The creatures must make a Wisdom saving throw. If they succeed on the saving throw the mask crumbles and disappears and that creature is not affected by this spell, creatures immune to being charmed automatically succeed on the saving throw. Creatures that fail have the masks become solid and fixed upon them: they are affected by this spell and will be referred to as 'masked creatures'. Any reference to masked creatures in this spell is referring only to creatures affected by the spell.

Masked creatures are charmed by you and must spend their turns aiming to kill other masked creatures affected by this spell. They will not acknowledge any creature that is not a masked creature even if attacked or damaged and will be entirely focused on killing the other masked creatures and nothing else. The masked creatures will seem to be enjoying this task and may laugh even if they take damage or would not normally enjoy killing the other creatures. Masked creatures will always know where the other masked creatures are. A masked creature may repeat the saving throw at the end of their turns and if they succeed their mask crumbles and are no longer affected by the spell.

A spell ends for a masked creature if they succeed on the saving throw, if they die, or if the spell ends from the duration expiring or if you lose concentration. The spell will also end if only one masked creature remains. When the spell ends for a creature they must succeed on an Intelligence saving throw otherwise the creature forgets the spell being cast and all that occurred while it was under the spell effects. Creatures who are dead when the spell ends for them fail the Intelligence saving throw automatically. A greater restoration spell can restore the memories. You may choose to have creatures to instead remember everything and may even choose only specific creatures but you must make this decision when you cast this spell.
