A beam of undulating, warbling chaotic energy streaks toward a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 2d6 damage.
Choose one of the d6s. The number rolled on that die determines the attack’s damage type, as shown below.

If you roll the same number on both d6s, the chaotic energy leaps from the target to a different creature of your choice within 30 feet of it. Make a new attack roll against the
new target, and make a new damage roll, which could cause the chaotic energy to leap again.
A creature can be targeted only once by each casting of this spell.
The spell increases in chaotic potential when you reach higher levels: use 3d6 at 5th level, 4d6 at 11th level, and 5d6 at 17th level.
However, if you roll the same number on three dice, the blast will rebound on the caster. Make a new attack roll against the new target, and make a new damage roll, which could cause the chaotic energy to leap again.
Rolling the same number on four dice will have the same effect as on two, but if you roll the same number on all five dice, the blast will target every creature in range, friend or foe. No more rolls are possible after this.

For the purposes of Eldritch Invocations, treat Chaotic Eldritch Blast as the Eldritch Blast spell, adding bonuses accordingly.
