You conjure a spike of magically strengthened ruby. Choose an object or creature you can see within range to launch the spike at it. Make a ranged spell attack; on a hit the spike deals 1d12 magical piercing damage. Whether you hit or miss the spike disappears.
The spell creates more than one spike when you reach higher levels: two spikes at 5th level, three spikes at 11th level, and four spikes at 17th level. You can direct the spikes at the same target or at different ones. Make a separate attack roll and damage roll for each spike.
