You evoke a green, constantly flowing and reforming blade of acid in your free hand. The blade is similar in size and shape to a long cleaver, and it lasts for the duration. If you let go of the blade, it disappears, but you can evoke the blade again as a bonus action.
You can use your action to make a melee spell attack with the acidic blade. On a hit, the target takes 5d4 acid damage.
The blade is acidic enough to eat through cloth, wood, and lesser metals such as copper, tin, and even iron. But not greater metals, such as steel, brass, or adamantine. It can not eat things that are magical or being worn or carried.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d4 for every slot level above 2nd.
(this spell is slightly better than say, flame blade, but if we’re honest who ever uses that spell while also thinking “this is a really good spell! I’m glad i used this.”)
