You point at a creature within range that you can see and attempt to split its existence between the plane you are currently on and the astral plane. The target must make a charisma saving throw or take 2d8 force damage and suffers a -2 penalty to the next attack role or saving throw it makes in the next minute. On a success, the target takes half damage and doesn't suffer a penalty.

 This spell fails and the slot used to cast it is wasted if it is cast in the astral plane.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the force damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.
