You create a 25-foot-radius sphere of acid gas Dealing 1d8 acid damage centered on a point within range. The sphere spreads and eats around corners, and it slowly eats away at the surroundings. It lasts for the duration or until a wind of moderate or greater speed (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses it, or until fog cloud is cast on it
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the radius of the gas increases by 10 feet for each slot level above 1st.

Posted Mar 1, 2021I love this! Great control spell! I especially love that fog cloud cancels it just like water and acid would!
Questions: 1. It's acid and you say it "eats around corners." Does this spell do more damage to structures like a siege weapon? 2. It lasts for 3 hours, with no concentration required, for a second-level spell? Seems a bit powerful, especially if it does damages every round. The spell description doesn't say it does damage every round. As written it could be argued it does damage once and then sits there. I'd recommend adding a bit of clarification on that. 3. Does this cloud obscure vision at all? It is a cloud of acidic gas, I don't imagine it would be easy to see through. 4. It's a ranged spell attack, but creates an area of effect? So if you miss your target, does the cloud dissipate without effect? I would suggest making it a constitution saving throw for anyone caught in the cloud, especially since, for each spell slot above 2nd (your description says first, but also that this is a second-level spell, so be careful with those minor errors) the radius increases by 10ft. Meaning at 9th level, you would have a 95ft RADIUS sphere? A 190-foot diameter sphere of poisonous gas? That is a LOT of area to cover. I would recommend making the damage increase with spell level as the acidic gas becomes more toxic, but that's my two cents.
Overall, a great start and a good spell! Just trying to ask questions I could see popping up at a gaming table. Also again, I love the thought put in that fog cloud cancels the acid because of water and acid-neutralizing each other. Speaking of, would the fog cloud stay after neutralizing the acid cloud? Or would both spells effectively cancel each other out?

Posted Mar 3, 2021Thankyou for taking a look at this. As for your questions, I will try to answer them to my best ability.
B: With an increase 10ft per spell lvl it would end at a range of 100ft with a radius of 95. Should it be decreased to 5ft per spell lvl so it ends at 100ft range with a radius of 60ft?
thankyou for pointing out the parts that don't make sense as I should have caught them.
5. I think they should cancel each other out unless this spell is at higher lvl where I think it should decrease its range per spell lvl fog cloud's lvl.
