Wonderhook is a spell designed in tandem with The Spelunker's Gloves. Created by the elderly Creative Mage Rodrick von Lichtenstein, the spell has thus far been unable to be cast successfully without the use of The Spelunker's Gloves as a channeling material.
When the spell is cast by channeling through the gloves and pointing at a specific object, a magical tether flies from the palm of the Spelunker's Glove in a straight line for 30ft. Upon making contact with an object or creature, the tether will magically attach itself. From here, the caster may do one of three things:
1.) Grab the tether and tug twice, which will make the caster speed towards the object or creature by retracting the tether, provided the object or creature is at least double the weight of the caster.
2.) Grab the tether and pull hard, which will retract the tether, pulling the creature or object towards the caster. (An object must weigh less than the caster, and a creature makes a strength saving throw against a DC of 12 in order to resist the pull.)
3.) Place their palm against an object or creature to attach the caster's end of the tether to said object or creature. After which above outcome (1) or (2) will happen, depending on weight.
The tether will last as long as the caster is able to concentrate on it, or, if it has been removed, the tether will last until dispelled or damaged.
For all intents and purposes, the tether has the strength and tensile strength of enchanted chains, but to touch it feels like hemp rope.
If the tether would be cut or a piece would be cut off, the tether will dispel immediately.
If the caster would attempt to cast another Wonderhook tether, the first tether cast will be dispelled immediately.
