Choose a creature that you can see within range. The target must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the target vividly hallucinates a horrible vision of your choosing centered on itself (spiders crawling all over its skin, catching on fire, etc) and takes 3d10 psychic damage.

During each of its turns that the spell is still active, the target must use its turn to attempt to rid itself of the perceived effect, such as swatting the spiders or dousing the flames.

At the end of each of its turns, the target can makes another Wisdom saving throw. On a success, the spell ends.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d10 for each slot level above 3rd.
