The target must make a dexterity saving throw or take 7d8 radiant damage and be blinded for 1 round on a failed save, or take half as much on a successful one and not be blinded. The beam can travel through creatures, who must suffer the effects as well, but it can't travel through objects, walls, or inanimate objects.
