This spell combines a bit of chronurgy with psychic influence, essentially tricking the mind into a magically induced and lengthened state of fight-or-flight.
A single target you can maintain line of sight on must make wisdom saving throw. On success, it takes 2d10 psychic damage and the spell fails.
If it fails, the target takes 2d10 psychic damage, freezes in panic, locks eyes with the caster, and cannot move or take actions for the duration of the spell. The target has disadvantage on deception checks for the duration, and believes the caster and their allies to be immensely powerful. The target cannot be coerced into actions or cast spells, but can speak freely.
At the second round of influence, and each 2 rounds after, the target can make a wisdom saving throw. On a fail, the spell continues and the target takes 2d10 psychic damage. On success, they take 1d10 psychic damage, the spell's effect is broken, and the target cannot be affected this way again for 1d4 days.
If the spell is maintained for the full duration, the effects last until the caster dispels them. If the eye contact is broken, the caster must succeed a concentration check or the fail effect occurs.
