Using this spell you can fling a chess piece up to 10 ft. conjuring a magical construct that will fight for you and your allies. It features the same size and race as you do and wears appropriate attire to it's type in a color of your choice. It can understand the language of it's creator. The construct shares your initiative count and takes it's turn right after you.
Out of combat the construct can just be ordered to move or guard a door, object or position.
Animated Chess Piece

- AC: 10 + your spellcasting ability modifier
- Speed: 20 ft.
- Hitpoints: (1d8+8)
- Melee Damage: +3 to Hit, reach 5ft., (1d4) + your proficiency modifier, bludgeoning damage
- all attacks ignore resistance to non magic weapons
- Immunity to sleep, charmed, frightened, petrified, poisoned, blinded, deafened, pain, doesn't need air
- Vulnerable to acid
Special Actions by type of chess piece:
- Pawn: Sacrifice. If the Pawn is within 5 ft. of you or an ally and an attack would reduce your/their HP to 0 or less, the pawn will use it's reaction to intercept and be destroyed instead.
- Rook: Bulwark. Standing on either side of an ally, the Rook can decide to shield them. The ally's AC increases by 1 and ranged attacks have disadvantage until the Rooks next turn starts.
- Knight: Charge. The Knight moves up to an enemy in a straight line for 20 ft. the target must succeed a DC 12 DEX saving throw or get knocked prone. The Charge deals (1d4) + your proficience modifier piercing damage.
- Bishop: Donation. The Bishop can donate (1d4) + your spellcasting ability modifier of his hitpoints to an ally within 10 ft. range to heal them. (max. his remaining HP) If the bishops HP are reduced to 0 by this, he vanishes in a flash of radiant light that deals (1d4) + your spellcasting ability modifier to all hostile creatures in a 5 ft. radius that fail a DC 12 CON saving throw.
- Queen: Queens ire. If a hostile creature moves up to 5 ft. of the Queen, she can take her reaction to attack that creature with advantage.The target also gains disadvantage on their next attack roll.
- King: Royal scorn. The King can take an attack that (instead of dealing damage) will lower a hostile creatures AC by 1 until the chess piece's next turn and give advantage on the next attack roll on this creature.
When the animated chess piece's HP are reduced to 0 the material component will be consumed. If it lives until the end of the duration, concentration is broken, or the spell is dismissed early, it reverts back to it's miniature.
The Chess Piece's boni on hitpoints and damage/healing increase by 1d8 and 1d4 when you reach 5th level (2d8 and 2d4), 11th level (3d8 and 3d4), and 17th level (4d8 and 4d4).
