You create a magical tattoo on your own body that is inscribed with the raw arcane information of a 1st level spell of the evocation school that has the casting time of one action that is currently prepared by you. Should the spell in question require any material components, then 10 times that quantity will be required for the casting of this spell.
You may, at any point after casting this spell, activate the tattoo as a bonus action. For one minute on each of your turns, the inscribed spell can be cast by you as a bonus action including the bonus action you used to activate the tattoo, without the need for material components or spell slots. At the end of the minute, you gain 1 point of exhaustion and the tattoo disappears, its magic spent.
Should you take a long rest with this spell cast, the tattoo being on your person and inactive, at the end of your long rest, there is a 5% chance that the tattoo activates prematurely. When activated in this manner, the tattoo will cast the inscribed spell within, with you as the target or center of target area, at initiative count 20 each turn for one minute, following which the tattoo disappears, its magic spent. This special casting uses your spellcasting ability modifier. Each subsequent long rest you take where the tattoo does not activate increases this chance by 5%.
You may have up to 2 instances of this spell active at any one time, but each instance has to be for a different inscribed spell, and both cannot be active at the same time. Activating a second tattoo while another is active will end the former activation, causing it to disappear, its magic spent.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a 6th level spell slot, the inscribed spell may be of 2nd level. When you cast this spell using a 9th level spell slot, the inscribed spell may be of 3rd level.
