As a reaction, you can make a spell attack roll against the creature, dealing 2d10 fire damage on a hit, which cannot be reduced or resisted in any way, as your magic turns its own power against it.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the flames deal 1d10 additional fire damage for each slot level above 2nd.
