Extending your fingers forward beyond your palm an intense pointed flame like a welding torch forms based at your palm and is directed by your outreached fingers.
During the spell's duration you can use your action to make a melee spell attack against a creature you can touch using your Spell modifier and proficiency bonus. On hit the target takes 2d8 Fire Damage.
If the target is wearing non magical metal armor it must make a dexterity saving throw. On a failed throw the targets AC decreases by one point until the armor can be repaired. This only can be used on individual targets once per spell cast. If the roll to hit is a critical the saving throw is an automatic failure.
When this spell is used on non magical metal object that is not being worn it does double damage to that object.

Posted Nov 4, 2018In my short experience with a fire themed character build I often found lower level spells were left unused in favor of larger high damaging spells other than mage armor. This spell was created in an attempt to add a bit of utility and flavor to a lower level spell and give it some usability in combat. I tried to find a good balance of making a utility spell while giving some secondary combat usability with roll to hit attacks and concentration making it harder to use. I've lowered the damage from 3d6 to 2d8 in an effort to give this a more balanced feel. Please leave your thoughts and concerns here to further improve this spell.
