An wall of amber erupts from a surface at a point you choose within range. The wall appears in any orientation you choose, as a horizontal or vertical barrier or at an angle. It must be resting on a solid surface. The wall is up to 35 feet long and 5 feet thick. It lasts for the duration. If the wall cuts through a creature's space when it appears, the creature is pushed to one side of the wall (your choice which side). The wall does not block line of sight.
Any living creature that begins or ends its turn touching the wall, or passes through the wall during its movement, is held, preventing normal movement. Only using the dash action or some form of teleportation can free a creature once the wall has them. Any non-living object that attempts to pass through the wall is delayed by one turn. Thus, arrows or other missiles fired in one turn will arrive at the start of the firer's next turn.
The wall is immune to all damage and can't be dispelled by dispel magic. A disintegrate spell destroys the wall instantly, however. The wall also extends into the Ethereal Plane, blocking ethereal travel through the wall.
The caster can use an action to send the wall back into the earth. If they do so, any single medium or smaller creature held by the wall is becomes trapped in the amber and sinks below ground with it.
