You touch a non-living object or collection of materials no larger than a five foot cube that is not a part of a structure. At the end of the casting, the object or materials are crushed and compacted to one percent of their original size and weight. This effect lasts until it is dispelled.
If the target of the spell is a non-metallic mineral, the pressure exerted upon it will transform it into a crystalline form. If the matter compressed would result in the creation of a gem, you may roll an Arcana check to determine the quality of the gem produced using your spellcasting ability modifier in the place of your Intelligence modifier when determining the total for the roll. A gem created by this spell is considered permanently altered and will not revert to its original form if any attempt is made to dispel the effect.
Arcana check results:
- 5 or lower: The uncut gem created is effectively worthless with numerous imperfections and cracks.
- 6 to 10: The uncut gem created is of low quality with a number of imperfections and few cracks.
- 11 to 15: The uncut gem created is of moderate quality with few imperfections but no visible cracks.
- 16 to 20: The uncut gem created is of high quality with minimal imperfections and no cracks.
- 21 to 29: The uncut gem created is of excellent quality with no visible imperfections and no cracks.
- 30 or higher: The gem created is of the highest quality. It is completely flawless and has been shaped to have a cut of your choosing.
