For the duration, you sense the presence of any planar portal, active or not, within 30 feet of you. If you sense a portal this way, you can use your action to see a faint aura around the portal.
Once a portal is detected, you can try to deduce where the other end discharges and the key required to use the portal, if any.
Each piece of information requires a seperate Intelligence (Arcana) check, determined by the destination of the portal. If either check fails, nothing further can be learned about that portal with this spell. (Another person can reattempt with there own spell).
You can choose the order in which you wish to attempt to learn this information. If you have seen the portal in operation, you gain advantage on the Intelligence (Arcana) Check.
The spell can penetrate most barriers, but it is blocked by 1 foot of stone, 1 inch of common metal, a thin sheet of lead, or 3 foot of wood or dirt.
