A wave of rotting ash covers your body and then rushes out in a wave of death. Each creature, except yourself, in a 90-foot sphere originating from you must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 6d8 necrotic damage. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage.
In addition, any creature that takes damage from this spell, must make an additional Constitution saving throw or be afflicted by the rotting ash. On a failed save the target can't regain hit points, and its hit point maximum decreases by 2d8 for every 24 hours that elapse. If the curse reduces the target's hit point maximum to 0, the target dies, and its body turns to dust. The curse lasts until removed by the remove curse spell or other magic of similar ability.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 1st.
